I was born in Tehran, Iran. I went to Tehran University and have an MA and Diploma in Architecture. I came to England in 1983 and started working as an architect and design consultant until 1991. Since 1991, I have been working as a freelance interpreter and translator and also design consultant.

I have the Diploma in Tranlation, Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) in Farsi and Dari and am a Registered Public Service Interpreter both in Farsi and Dari (RPSI). I am a member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI), member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL) and member of the Association of Police and Court Interpreters (MAPCI).

I interpret and translate from English to Farsi and Dari and vice versa and have extensive experience in all aspects of interpreting and translation by working for many years for different bodies and authorities such as:

  • HM Customs and Excise;
  • Asylum and Immigration Tribunal;
  • Media, including BBC;
  • Immigration Appellate Authority;
  • Solicitors;
  • Commercial Organisations;
  • Local Authorities and
  • Over 100 Agencies in the UK and abroad

I have also written a chapter called “An Interpreters’ Perspective” for a book entitled “Working with Interpreters in Mental Health” for the University of East London.

I also undertake graphic design work such as corporate and personal logos, brochures, leaflets, letterheads, cards and small architectural commissions and interior design work.
