I have been working as a freelance interpreter since 1991. I have gained a vast amount of
experience during this time. I have the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting in Farsi and Dari and I am a Registered Public Service Interpreter in Farsi and Dari

I have in excess of 17000 hours of experience in consecutive/liaison interpreting, more than
7000 hours of simultaneous/whispered, and some 500 hours of conference interpreting.

Some of the areas of my specialisation are:

Legal, criminal, Immigration Service, court, police, Commercial, technical (engineering,
architecture, shipping, etc.), health and local government.

I have held the title of “Interpreter of the year” from 1997 - 2000 for three consecutive years
between 500 interpreters in Parkside Health Interpreting Service (GRIP). I have also written a
chapter called “An Interpreter’s Perspective” for a book entitled “Working with Interpreters
in Mental Health” for the University of East London.
